Bringing back Barn Owls - A talk with John Carrig of the Barn Own project and Eirn the barn owl!

Marine Plastic Art Workshops : Eco-Art Workshops with Jacquelyn Dale Whitman 

11am-1pm, Sat 4th May, St.Josephs school hall  OR  4-6pm, Sun 5th May, Kinvara Community Centre

This workshop will look at the elements and principles of sculpture, light, and shadow, while discussing marine biodiversity and plastic pollution. Participants will learn methods for melting sheet plastic and marine plastic debris into ocean-based artworks and will work together to create a coral reef made of shadows. Participants will also have the option to contribute their artwork to the collaborative SciArt installation - Plastic Magnitudes - which will be on display in Brussels this summer. Suitable for 13+ years and adults. Limited places, Adm: FREE, but booking required. 

Explore a ‘Great Irish Grassland’ - a walk with Dr Maria Long, 11am-1pm, Monday 6th May

Take a walk through Slieve Carran Nature Reserve, part of the Burren National Park, and one of the sites on the new ‘Grasslands Trail'. You will be spotting grassland plants along the way, ID tips will be given, and the importance of semi-natural grasslands will be discussed.

May Tree Dance with Edwina Guckian, 4-6pm, Mon 6th May, Carron
Join in the celebration of Bealtaine and May Day traditions through music, dancing and folklore with Edwina Guckian. This is part of Burrenbeo's Turas Creative Climate Action project.
